John Hayden Howard (1925-2014) wrote science fiction under the name Hayden Howard, publishing the novel The Eskimo Invasion, which was nominated for the Nebula Award in its original novelette form as well as its expanded novel length.  Howard began publishing with the story “It,” in 1952 and continued to publish until 1971, when his final story, “To Grab Power,” appeared.  During that time, he published nearly twenty short stories and The Eskimo Invasion.  Hayden also published poetry and worked as a sixth grade teacher.
